Panchakarma (Detoxification) Treatment

In Ayurveda, Any activity or approach which alleviates or destroys a disease is called Chikitsa. That is, any ‘disease destroying approaches’ are called Chikitsa.
All those activities or approaches or methods through which the doshas, dhatus and malas of the body revert back to the stage of their normalcy (equilibrium) by losing their morbidity are called Chikitsa.

Panchakarma therapy is considered a complete, holistic approach to the elimination of the root cause of each and every chronic disease. Panchakarma is the ultimate mind-body healing experience for detoxifying the body, strengthening the immune system, and restoring balance and wellbeing.

The word panchakarma itself means five for ‘pancha’ and therapeutic measures for ‘karma’ in Sanskrit.
Panchakarma therapy involves five types of advanced treatment for evacuating the vitiated dosha (toxic materials) from the body.

Rakthamoksha – (Bloodletting)

Rakthamoksha is an ancient therapeutic procedure in Ayurveda, known as the “bloodletting” or “blood purification” therapy. It is one of the five main procedures of Panchakarma, a comprehensive system of detoxification and rejuvenation techniques.

Vamana

Vamana is a profound detoxification procedure and one of the five major therapies of Panchakarma in Ayurveda. It is a specialized form of therapeutic emesis designed to eliminate excess doshas (energetic forces), particularly Kapha dosha, from the body.

Nasya

Nasya is a unique and highly beneficial Ayurvedic therapy that involves the administration of herbal oils, medicated powders, or herbal juices into the nasal passages. It is one of the Panchakarma treatments, focusing on cleansing and rejuvenating the upper respiratory tract and the head region.

Virechana

Virechana is a potent Ayurvedic therapy for detoxification and purification, making it one of the primary treatments in the Panchakarma system. It is a specialized form of therapeutic purgation that aims to eliminate excess Pitta dosha and other accumulated toxins from the body, particularly from the gastrointestinal tract and the liver.

Vasti (Therapeutic Enema)

Vasthi is a powerful treatment in Ayurveda. It is introducing medicines through the anus and expelling the toxins through the same route. It is of two types.Anuvasanavasthi and Asthapanavasti
